Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the Connecticut State Community College team, responsible for overseeing a full spectrum of human resource functions. This includes talent acquisition, employee relations, and administrative processing. The successful candidate will have a unique skill set encompassing strategic HR leadership, payroll, and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute effective talent acquisition strategies to recruit top-tier employees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with department heads and campus staff to ensure a positive workplace culture.
  • Process employee payroll and benefits within the State's ERP systems, ensuring compliance with State of Connecticut statutes and collectively bargained union agreements.
  • Leverage State and CSCU protocols and agency contacts to advance and maintain compliance-related elements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institute of higher education.
  • Eight years of experience in a human resource role, with a focus on strategic HR leadership, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Advanced knowledge and comfort utilizing Microsoft Office and a human resource ERP system.
  • Knowledge of employment practices related to civil rights, equal employment opportunity, and compensation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Human Resource Certification (SHRM, HRCI, etc.).
  • Greater than 4 years' experience conducting human resource operations in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with CORE CT, the State of Connecticut's ERP System.
