Key Responsibilities:
- Promptly answer incoming calls, ideally by the third ring, ensuring calls are identified and directed to the appropriate department efficiently.
- Exhibit professional telephone etiquette when receiving, transferring, and placing calls on hold, minimizing hold times.
- Effectively schedule appointments, documenting them in accordance with practice policies.
- Accurately input patient demographic information and insurance details into the system as required.
- Verify insurance information and collect necessary referrals and authorizations.
- Ensure patients complete all relevant forms accurately and thoroughly.
- Notify the Office Secretary or Office Coordinator when supplies are nearing reorder levels.
- Facilitate the copying of patient records as requested by insurance companies or other medical offices.
- Manage daily receipts, journals, and deposits to the cashier.
- Assemble batches for daily superbills for physicians and prepare them accurately for submission to the billing company.
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks, such as filing, as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- A High School Diploma is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook) is required.
