Job Summary:

The MetroHealth System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Training Program Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and clinical experiences to Medical Assistant Interns, preparing them to pass the certification examination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver didactic instruction and evaluation for program courses, ensuring alignment with established standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinate and evaluate interns' clinical instructional processes and activities, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with applicants, interns, program leaders, and key stakeholders, upholding the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
  • Provide rich clinical experiences, preparing interns to pass the certification examination and meet the program's standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • Credentialed in Medical Assisting by a Nationally Accredited Credentialing organization.
  • 3-5 years of experience in performing administrative and clinical procedures of medical assisting.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical practice and theory relative to the program.
  • Coursework in education theory or techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant educational or clinical discipline.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Assisting Core Curriculum.
  • 3 years of experience in educational/training activities.
  • Experience with the Epic Electronic Medical Record.
  • Teaching experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Ability to lift pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
