Key Responsibilities:

  • Adjust payroll and labor transactions through reorganization processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal travel policies and regulations.
  • Verify, analyze, and maintain financial data utilized by the DOJ Office of the Comptroller.
  • Employ various electronic software and databases, such as UFMS, JEDI, and SAFARI, to interpret complex data sets.
  • Utilize financial management systems to monitor expenditures across multiple accounts.
  • Generate and reconcile financial reports on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare financial documentation for review and approval by the DOJ Office of the Comptroller and other U.S. Government entities.
  • Provide assistance and support to other DOJ sections in transaction processing and suggest resolutions for system errors.
  • Draft memorandums and correspondence related to financial reports and activities.
  • Manage office documentation, maintain databases, and assist with scheduling and organizing meetings.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned or initiated, essential for regular or special projects within the division.
  • Collaborate with team members as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in accounting or a bachelor’s degree in a related field (finance, business, banking, or economics) with 30 credit hours in accounting.
  • Familiarity with both manual and automated accounting systems used in financial institutions.
  • Experience with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements.
  • Proficiency in the quarterly review, accrual, and closeout processes.
  • Ability to analyze and provide technical support for various financial activities.
  • Competence in identifying and evaluating changes in budgetary and financial activities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills regarding financial data.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in UFMS, JEDI, SAFARI, E2, and Excel.
  • Experience in Budgeting Cycle Management.
  • Knowledge of Financial Management practices.
  • Familiarity with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processing.
  • Understanding of reimbursable agreements and obligations processing.
  • Skills in auditing and accounting services.
  • Ability to conduct cash flow analysis and statistical research.
  • Experience in electronic data acquisition and systems analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation and reporting.
