Job Title: Prevention Specialist

At KC CARE Health Center, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our prevention team, you will play a critical role in providing HIV testing services and assisting in the planning and implementation of prevention education interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement individual and group level HIV prevention interventions for priority populations using evidence-based models.
  • Provide comprehensive HIV risk reduction counseling and testing services to clients.
  • Develop and disseminate social media messaging to reach priority populations.
  • Disseminate educational materials and safer sex tools to clients during program-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate data on clients served and interventions provided.
  • Assist in completing program reports and grant narratives.
  • Ensure clients with HIV positive test results are referred to Linkage to Care Case managers.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months' experience in healthcare or a related field.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, health education, or a related field.
  • Previous HIV/AIDS prevention experience.
Working Conditions:

The Prevention Specialist will work in a healthcare facility setting, with potential exposure to viruses, diseases, and infections from patients. Travel may be required to community meetings, client homes, or other agencies.
