Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Talent Development Specialist to join our team at Equus Workforce Solutions. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will play a critical role in helping job seekers and career changers prepare for and advance in careers with a focus on sustainable, high-growth, high-demand industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counseling and Career Guidance: Provide expert guidance and support to customers regarding job search strategies, personal career advisement, and training issues.
  • Program Participation: Advise, monitor, and track participation for customers to ensure they maximize the functions and opportunities of the program.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage the day-to-day relationship with customers, address concerns promptly, and document all findings with clear and concise case notes.
  • Occupational Knowledge: Maintain knowledge and professional understanding of various occupations and career paths to effectively place and process customers.
  • Motivational Support: Provide motivational support to customers during the job search process.
  • Training Needs Identification: Identify training needs and ensure appropriate training is provided.
  • Job Readiness and Search Workshops: Facilitate job readiness and search workshops to equip customers with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the job market.
  • Customer Success Stories: Document customer success stories internally and externally to showcase the impact of our workforce development services.
  • Resume and Documentation Analysis: Analyze and construct critiques of resumes and required documentation for effective processing of customer eligibility.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate and complete records and correspondence as required by the Program Director and according to standards set by the customer.
  • Policies and Procedures: Create and maintain policies and procedures for career advisement and assist in the training of other team members in those guidelines.
  • Special Projects: Work under the direction of the Career Advisor Coordinator to facilitate timely completion of tasks and special projects, and assist program team members as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Art or Bachelor of Science in psychology, marketing, business, human resources, or related fields with two plus years of relevant work experience.
  • Work Experience: Experience working with career counseling consumers in a high-volume work environment, particularly in human services or workforce development, or an equivalent combination.

  • Computer Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Customer Service Skills: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to relate well with individuals and motivate them to achieve their career goals.
  • Referral Network: Possess a referral network with other human service agencies in the community and be able to provide intervention services as needed.
  • Job Search Strategies: Have knowledge of various job search strategies, resources, and action plans.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Be adaptable, flexible, and a fast learner, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work well within a team concept and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrate a customer-focused approach, with a commitment to providing excellent service to customers.
