The Role:
The Commercial Lending Manager will be responsible for building and growing lending relationships with small and medium-sized businesses in the Greater New York and New Jersey markets.
Responsibilities:
- Identify new business relationships for working capital lending.
- Structure commercial credit transactions.
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated credit and portfolio information.
- Analyze credit and risk impacts of new business proposals, transactions, and financial trends.
- Drive profitability by ensuring the credit and financial impact of all business decisions is independently evaluated.
- Monitor credit quality within the existing portfolio.
- Participate in joint calls with business partners to develop customer relationships and support product sales.
Qualifications:
- Formal credit training is required.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a credit-related field, and at least ten years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in finance.
- MBA and/or significant experience in a consumer and commercial finance environment are strongly preferred.
- Minimum five years of direct experience with C&I lending (loan sizes between $1 million to $10 million).
- Demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in core and specialty industry lending products and services.
- Capital Call Lending and Venture-backed lending are a plus.
- Established client network and robust network of referral sources.
- Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Established credit, industrial, and risk acumen.
- Understand and interpret complex business and regulatory requirements.
The hiring range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
