Job Overview

A Security and Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the protection of hotel guests, staff, and property. This position is essential in fostering a reassuring environment for guests through visible presence and proactive measures. Depending on operational needs, the coordinator may be stationed at the main office to oversee security protocols and conduct health screenings as necessary.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
  • Completion of Safety and Security Training Certification (must meet State regulations).
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Heimlich maneuver.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and staff in a courteous, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with company standards, adapting to the hotel’s scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance, including wearing the designated uniform and name tag.
  • Adhere to company policies and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Respond to phone inquiries and dispatch assistance promptly, demonstrating effective communication skills.
  • Maintain visual oversight of the front desk and hotel entrance while stationed in the lobby.
  • Document daily activities and maintain confidentiality regarding guest and staff incidents.
  • Conduct briefings with Guest Services staff at the start and end of each shift.
  • Authorize access to secured areas and verify identification of visitors and staff as needed.
  • Be aware of local laws and regulations relevant to the position.
  • Assist guests with room access and inquiries.
  • Investigate incidents such as thefts or accidents involving guests, collaborating with hotel leadership to complete incident reports.
  • Support external agencies when required.
  • Provide escort services as necessary.
  • Assist in managing situations involving intoxicated guests.
  • Have knowledge of hotel locking systems and respond to security alarms.
  • Conduct safety rounds, checking for hazards and ensuring the integrity of property security.
  • Administer First Aid and CPR during medical emergencies as needed.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to complete incident reports accurately.
  • Facilitate deliveries and assist with guest requests.
  • Support the Front Desk with various tasks as needed.
  • Manage Lost and Found items according to established protocols.
  • Participate in special events and meetings, and perform additional duties as required.
