Department: Security Division

Status: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Overview:

As a Campus Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our expansive campus, which spans 82 acres. Your role will involve monitoring buildings and grounds to protect individuals and property. You will assist in the enforcement of organizational policies and procedures while performing essential radio operations linked to campus security, utilizing various software applications.

Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to evaluate and manage potentially volatile situations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Capacity to maintain composure while managing multiple tasks, including visitor interactions, phone inquiries, and radio communications.
  • Proficient in prioritizing conflicting responsibilities.
  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Current students or alumni of Christ For The Nations are preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.

Special Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights.
  • Physically capable of performing various tasks such as standing, walking, running, climbing, lifting, and crouching as required for security duties.
  • Good vision, including close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and fulfill licensing requirements as mandated by the Texas Private Security Bureau.
  • Exhibit high moral character and integrity, presenting a confident and respectful image at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement standard procedures to ensure the physical safety and security of all students, staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Assist in upholding organizational policies and regulations related to personnel and property security.
  • Conduct, document, and report routine patrols, whether on foot, bicycle, or vehicle, to assess security conditions.
  • Maintain discipline and uphold the image of the Security Division.
  • Respond to security incidents during your shift, documenting relevant information and intervening as necessary to ensure safety.
  • Monitor and enforce campus regulations, addressing violations appropriately.
  • Document and report incidents, accidents, and other situations as required by existing policies.
  • Respond to building alarms, assessing and rectifying conditions as needed.
  • Perform regular patrols within and around campus buildings to evaluate security levels.
  • Manage access to buildings by opening, closing, locking, and unlocking doors and gates as scheduled.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls, providing information and dispatching officers as needed.
  • Maintain communication with on-duty security personnel while documenting all radio communications.
  • Assist with additional security-related tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Provide assistance to visitors regarding directions and information about the campus and surrounding area.
