Position Summary

We are in search of a seasoned Systems Engineer to contribute to our Commercial Innovation Center. The ideal candidate will possess between 8 to 12 years of extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in the design, development, and deployment of intricate systems tailored for defense and intelligence applications. Proficiency with AWS and its associated services is essential, as the role involves the integration of cloud-based solutions into our systems architecture. A Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is mandatory, along with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions. This position plays a vital role in the development and integration of advanced technologies, ensuring timely and scope-compliant project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the design, development, and integration of sophisticated systems, focusing on utilizing AWS and its services to fulfill customer needs and operational objectives.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with diverse teams, including software and hardware engineers, as well as program managers, to formulate system architectures and detailed designs.
  • Manage the complete system lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment, ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership in systems engineering methodologies, encompassing requirements analysis, risk management, and trade studies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and protocols, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, especially in cloud environments.
  • Conduct systems integration and testing, troubleshooting technical issues to guarantee seamless operation.
  • Engage with stakeholders to outline project scope, timelines, and deliverables while managing risks and addressing potential challenges.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, and documentation to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8-12 years of experience in systems engineering, ideally within the defense or intelligence sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements management, system design, integration, and verification.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS and its services, with experience in architecting and deploying cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of system security requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a knack for troubleshooting complex systems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to senior leadership and clients.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in an Agile development environment is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques.
  • Certification in Systems Engineering (INCOSE CSEP or equivalent).
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures and services, particularly within AWS.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and regulations.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Understanding of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, and their applications in defense and intelligence systems.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is between $125,000 and $165,000, reflecting the typical salary based on experience, location, and other relevant factors.
