Job Summary:

The Team Operator position at Crayola is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. As a Team Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that production and packing requirements are met in accordance with the production schedule, and verifying that materials used and the assembled part meet product and process specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various production and packing operations with technically complex machinery, including adjustments and setup.
  • Ensure continuous operation of machinery and make adjustments as required to maintain efficiency standards.
  • Inspect operations of equipment and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Follow standard work methods, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), and practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe.
  • Continually inspect for quality in accordance with established procedures and maintain accurate records on production, materials used, and other information required.
  • Learn various jobs and duties as a Team Operator employee and participate in team problem-solving to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with SOPs.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for inventory control and accuracy by utilizing Warehouse Management System.
  • Train temporary workforce in daily operations as required.
  • Comply with Federal and State hazardous waste regulations, including proper handling, storing, labeling, and familiarity with Crayola's Emergency Action Procedure in the event of a spill or leak.
  • Participate in Team Development and Continuous Improvement initiatives by attending meetings, communicating information, and providing input.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or similar repetitive assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job, including standing, walking, seeing, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and grasping.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to work alone with minimum supervision/direction.
  • Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
