This position serves as a working lead within the Sanitation division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols in production zones.
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Act as the resident expert on customer specifications.
- Support the Supervisor during plant start-ups; assist Quality Control; allocate the right skill sets to appropriate positions, manage absenteeism.
- Prepare to commence operations 15 minutes before production starts.
- Ensure all documentation is accurately completed (zero errors).
- Serve as the first line of support on the production line (fill-in as needed).
- Manage temporary workforce effectively.
- Provide comprehensive training for new and temporary employees on job responsibilities, safety protocols, GMP, and processes before they begin work.
- Take ownership of safety and cleanliness in all primary and secondary processing areas (e.g., cooler). Drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate employee performance feedback (both positive and developmental) to the supervisor or manager.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor regarding any production-related issues or concerns.
- Ensure all employees in the business unit complete Annual Required Training, including GMP and Safety.
- Facilitate cross-training within the process area; monitor performance once employees are in their roles (e.g., number of deviations, batching errors, etc.).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in computer usage with a working knowledge of operating systems (Windows), word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and basic email (Outlook) skills preferred.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
To fulfill this job role, an individual must complete the required job-specific training outlined in the Training Register.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Strong verbal, telephone, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Reading skills must be sufficient to comprehend moderately complex information (instruction manuals, procedural manuals, manufacturing specifications). Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Capable of legibly recording basic information (completing forms, taking messages). Analytical skills must be sufficient to utilize clearly defined work procedures and readily available facts to make recommendations that meet established performance requirements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position functions as an area lead worker, performing similar tasks as those supervised. Responsible for training, instructing, and guiding co-workers while assisting in managing the production schedule. May contribute to performance evaluations. Accuracy is critical. Duties are assigned by the Area Supervisor or others and are performed under occasional guidance. Completed tasks are reviewed for accuracy by a work leader or supervisor. This position has the authority to make decisions or suggestions based on established rules or procedures; more complex decisions are referred to the Area Supervisor or higher management for resolution. Direct interaction with customers in the immediate work area is required to understand and meet their needs through assistance and/or providing information from readily available sources. Decisions are typically short-range and affect only a small group or work unit; occasionally, other operations, services, individuals, customers, or activities may be impacted.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work demands may include mandatory overtime, tight deadlines, seasonal/cyclical work activities, and responding to complaints. Physical activities required by the job include sitting, walking (moving about on foot to accomplish tasks), repetitive motions (substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers), standing (particularly for extended periods), and talking (expressing or exchanging ideas verbally). Physical requirements are primarily sedentary, with the expectation to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
