Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the daily activities of pharmacy technicians, ensuring efficient and effective medication preparation and distribution.
- Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department, staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Perform pharmaceutical procedures, including medication preparation and distribution, to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
- Exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to provide pharmaceutical support to patients' plans of care.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- May be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department.
- Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) certification or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- 4 years of recent relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of different pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures.
- Ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications.
- Basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards, including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), related pharmaceutical technology, EHR, and EPIC.
- Ability to perform basic pharmacy buyer duties.
This is a full-time position with a variable schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends. The salary range for this role is $41.69 to $52.11 per hour.
