Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Lead to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our pharmacy operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the overall operation of the pharmacy technicians, including staffing and work assignments. You will serve as a liaison between the department and staff, Information Systems, physicians, patients, family, and other site staff. Your expertise in pharmaceutical procedures will ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy.

With a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills, you will provide pharmaceutical support to the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. You will adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the overall operation of the pharmacy technicians, including staffing and work assignments
• Serve as a liaison between the department and staff, Information Systems, physicians, patients, family, and other site staff
• Perform pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy
• Provide pharmaceutical support to the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner
• Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
• 4 years recent relevant experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations and laws and regulations
• Knowledge and understanding of different Pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures
• Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
