Job Summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for applying technical expertise to lead projects of moderate to large size and scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply extensive technical expertise to lead projects, exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and developing new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects, interacting with senior external personnel on significant technical matters.
  • Coordinate and lead multiple projects, including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards.
  • Provide technical oversight and direction for activities such as support, testing, installation, inspections, and commissioning.
Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum or recognized equivalency, 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, and EIT/FE certification.
  • Preferred: PE registration may be required depending on business need.
