Director of Actuarial Models

The Director of Actuarial Models plays a pivotal role in executing model change management activities and preparing models for production runs within a rigorous governance environment. This position involves extensive collaboration with internal teams such as Valuation and Pricing, as well as external stakeholders including software vendors, consultants, and auditors.

Reporting to the AVP, this role is crucial in fostering a strong risk management culture, providing technical support and training to other actuarial users, and enhancing processes for effectiveness and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Executing model change management activities to ensure seamless integration with production runs
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive model development and implementation
  • Providing technical support and training to actuarial users to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Developing and maintaining actuarial models to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance

For this role, we are seeking an individual with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science, FSA designation, and at least 6 years of related actuarial experience. Proficiency in AXIS or similar modeling software is required, along with experience in Indexed Universal Life Insurance and modeling applications for US statutory and GAAP quantities. Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
