Role Overview

The Accounting team at Hive plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational success of the organization. As the Accounting Manager, you will collaborate closely with our finance and business units to deliver exceptional guidance and expertise, ensuring both efficiency and precision within the accounting division. Your responsibilities will encompass managing and executing general accounting functions, including the preparation of financial reports and analyses, providing audit support, reconciling bank accounts, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with payroll processes. The ideal candidate will enhance transparency regarding the company's overall performance and leverage their expertise to implement continuous improvement measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance on accounting operations to foster transparency and efficiency within the financial department.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of costs and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated account schedules and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Oversee the accounting and analysis of revenue and gross-to-net models.
  • Support the modeling of forecasted gross-to-net projections to provide valuable insights.
  • Participate actively in the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors, the accounting team, and executive management.
  • Execute month-end closing activities, including analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver precise financial analyses and key performance indicators to the Executive team promptly.
  • Assist with payroll processing and reporting as needed, adhering to union payroll and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Support all local and federal tax filings and reporting obligations.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and automation to streamline closing processes and improve the accuracy of accounting records.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses and projects as required.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices for data management relevant to your role.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regarding the protection of information assets.
  • Report any actual or suspected security and/or policy violations to the appropriate authority.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated success in a competitive, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious in achieving objectives.
  • A critical thinker capable of anticipating potential challenges and considering alternative solutions.
  • A strong sense of urgency in addressing the needs of the organization.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $160,000, with actual compensation varying based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the total compensation package, which may include stock options in addition to the stated range.
