Key Responsibilities
  • Greets and directs patients and family members, scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
  • Assists patients with selecting a primary care clinician, emphasizing the importance of continuity of care.
  • Accurately handles prescription requests, medical chart information, and schedules referrals with other physician offices.
  • Answers phone calls and directs them to the appropriate party, providing a pleasant and helpful experience.
  • Collects co-payments and deductibles at the time of service and accurately posts charges and payments in the computer.
  • Coordinates care with other care team members to provide exceptional patient service.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Strong patient-centered focus, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work as part of a clinical team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
  • Ability to organize and manage competing priorities, problem-solve, and show good judgment.
Work Environment

This role is performed in a reception area, involving frequent contact with patients. The work environment is fast-paced, with intermittent standing, walking, and sitting. May require lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range are required. Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue is possible. Normal medical office environment.
