Credentialing Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist to join our team at Lifespan. As a key member of our Patient Financial Service Credentialing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of provider data in our credentialing database.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process incoming requests for enrollment and audit provider documentation
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from providers, practice managers, and health plans
- Resolve provider/practice manager complaints and inquiries in a timely and accurate manner
- Process customer and account source documents, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate records
- Enter provider data into our credentialing database, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Verify and correct entered data, maintaining the integrity of our database
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and maintain quality assurance, safety, and infection control standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum one to two years of experience in credentialing and/or privileging within a hospital or managed care environment
- Proven expertise in healthcare physician credentialing, expirables management, re-credentialing, and provider enrollment
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of electronic credentialing systems a plus
