About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an international maritime client in search of a highly skilled and motivated Director of Sales Optimization to join their dynamic team in New Orleans, LA. This is a leadership position that involves managing a team, developing strategies, and implementing tools and processes that enable the sales department to reach its goals efficiently.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of sales processes, excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive results, strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and experience in scaling sales operations within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the sales operations function to ensure alignment with overall business goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, processes, and best practices to optimize sales productivity and efficiency
  • Manage sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting to provide accurate and timely data to leadership
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and IT, to streamline processes and enhance sales performance
  • Build and maintain sales dashboards and performance metrics to track team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define sales targets, quotas, and territories
  • Drive the implementation and adoption of sales technology tools, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and automation solutions
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of sales team members to improve skills and ensure peak performance
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization across the sales cycle
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to sales policies, compliance standards, and operational procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), preferred
  • 10 years of experience in sales operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Mechanical and Technical background and experience, required
  • Maritimes background and experience, preferred but not required
  • Proven track record of successfully managing sales teams and driving sales performance improvements
  • Strong knowledge of sales technologies, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce, and sales automation tools
  • In-depth knowledge of sales processes, pipeline management, and sales forecasting methodologies
  • Proven experience in driving sales strategy, operations, and revenue growth initiatives
  • Experience in a distribution company with a high value and mechanically technical product, with interfacing with vendors, preferred

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 based on industry standards and market conditions.
