POSITION OVERVIEW

The Financial Services Representative plays a vital role in managing new account transactions, guiding clients in their choice of various banking products and services, and promoting the offerings of OakStar Bank. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist both individual and business clients in selecting suitable accounts and financial products, utilizing effective sales techniques to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Conduct teller transactions efficiently using cash handling technology for both lobby and drive-thru customers.
  • Engage with clients to gather necessary information, verify identification, and assess the need for reference checks.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the establishment of new accounts, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed and initial deposits are processed.
  • Utilize computer systems to manage account activities, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely support.
  • Represent OakStar Bank at community events to enhance the bank's reputation and foster business growth.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, rectifying errors, and resolving issues effectively.
  • Issue official checks and manage safe deposit box operations, including account openings and customer assistance.
  • Process stop payment requests and manage account hold orders as needed.
  • Handle various banking operations, including credit reports, wire transfers, and order processing for checks and deposit slips.
  • Compile data for reports and manage follow-up communications.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel within the bank.
  • Manage lines of credit and debit card applications, ensuring all records are maintained accurately.
  • Oversee the processing of statements and interest payments for various accounts.
  • Assist in daily vault operations, including balancing currency and coin.
  • Provide training and support to less experienced branch staff.
  • Prepare routine correspondence and maintain organized documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations while performing job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS

The following specifications outline the essential experience and skills required for successful performance in this role.
  • A high school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the banking sector or equivalent education and training.
  • Basic understanding of branch operations, banking terminology, and products/services for retail and commercial clients.
  • Familiarity with state and federal banking regulations and internal operational policies.
  • Proficient in using computer systems, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong mathematical skills for managing financial transactions and account balancing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow instructions and engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance may be required for job-related travel.
