Patient Service Representative

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional customer service, managing patient accounts, and coordinating with insurance providers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greet patients, answer phones, and respond to messages in a timely and professional manner
* Schedule patient appointments, register patients, and verify demographic information
* Obtain insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on required forms
* Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and screen for non-covered services
* Collect patient payments, provide accurate receipts, and post payments in the system
* Maintain department and individual work queues, and report as required
Requirements:
* One year of customer service experience involving interactions with customers in person and by phone
* Professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated basic computer skills and data entry
Preferred Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
* Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing
* Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands
* See and read computer monitors and documents
* Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment
* May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling, and reaching
