Position Overview:
As the Deputy Chief of the Engineering Division, you will oversee the daily operations and administrative management of a team of approximately 30 professionals engaged in various technical and engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the performance of subordinate supervisors and their teams.
- Organize, coordinate, and facilitate training programs for the technical staff of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
- Act as a national subject matter expert (SME) on vessel safety, providing critical advice on technical matters related to vessel stability for the Marine Design Center (MCX) and USACE.
- Establish and advise on technical standards for a highly skilled engineering workforce tasked with addressing complex challenges in floating plant design and engineering.

Technical Guidance:
- Provide expert technical advice to the Director of the Marine Design Center to ensure effective implementation of the MCX processes.
- Ensure quality assurance across MCX products, including analysis, design projects, and vessel condition assessments, while conducting detailed reviews of these products.

Additional Expertise:
- Serve as a marine engineering authority on various Civil Works projects, including structures such as piers, docks, moorings, lock gates, and flood control structures.
- Conduct technical reviews of floating plant products from other USACE districts to ensure accuracy and adequacy.

Employment Conditions:
- This position may require a suitability determination based on a completed background investigation.
- A one-year supervisory probationary period may be necessary.
- Financial disclosure is required upon employment and annually thereafter, in accordance with Department of Defense directives.

Qualifications:
- Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, including a valid Professional Engineer License.
- Experience in marine engineering or naval architecture, along with supervisory experience in managing engineering projects, is essential.

Evaluation Criteria:
- Candidates will be assessed based on their qualifications, experience, and competencies in design, leadership, oral communication, and project management.
