Job Overview

Position Title: Information Technology Intern

The intern at Ketel Thorstenson, LLP will play a crucial role in supporting the project team by implementing integrated system and physical control measures to safeguard sensitive and proprietary information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address and resolve help desk inquiries.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for staff experiencing technology-related issues, primarily involving local workstations, printers, mobile devices, and network resources.
  • Assist in the setup of hardware for new employees.
  • Regularly update software and hardware applications as instructed.
  • Support the integration of new systems and applications into current networks.
  • Participate in the management of system security and conduct routine security assessments.
  • Handle the lifting and transportation of various equipment.
  • Familiarize oneself with and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Build collaborative relationships with vendors and colleagues.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Conduct structured analysis and data modeling to troubleshoot unresolved issues.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of applications while educating staff on relevant software and hardware.
  • Oversee the upkeep of computer hardware, software, and other systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with IT equipment and software applications.
  • Document technical problems and solutions to enhance support and maintenance processes.
  • Assess technology specifications for alignment with security and business continuity standards.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the internship program, candidates must be enrolled as full-time or part-time students in any degree program and meet the following criteria:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Industrial Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Possess strong technical skills with a solid understanding of software development and hardware fundamentals.
  • Hold a valid State Driver's License.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and meet insurance criteria following a motor vehicle record review.

Work Schedule:

This is a temporary position requiring 15 to 25 hours of work per week, adaptable around academic commitments. The internship duration ranges from six to twelve weeks.
