Medical Laboratory Scientist

Yoakum Community Hospital is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Technologist to become a part of our dedicated team on a PRN basis. In this essential role, you will be responsible for conducting various medical laboratory tests and analyses that are crucial for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illnesses.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures with precision to support patient care.
- Verify patient identities and ensure accurate specimen collection and labeling.
- Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses of body fluids, including blood and urine.
- Analyze and interpret test results to assist healthcare providers in clinical decision-making.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage inventory and track laboratory supplies effectively.
To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following:
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience or training in a similar role is preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
- Registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or an equivalent body.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
