In this essential role, you will be instrumental in conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses that are crucial for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various health conditions.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Medical Technologist, your responsibilities will include:
- Verifying patient identities and ensuring accurate specimen collection and labeling.
- Performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid.
- Interpreting and analyzing test results to assist in clinical decision-making.
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Conducting routine preventative maintenance and managing laboratory supplies efficiently.
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
- Preferred prior experience or training in a similar capacity.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist and registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or an equivalent body.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
