Compensation: Starting at $19.00/hour (based on experience). This is a full-time role with first shift hours. Weekend availability is essential. Key Responsibilities

Ensure all facilities are maintained in optimal condition with minimal downtime by performing daily maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Engineering Management team. Actively contribute to enhancing the engineering services provided to both guests and staff.

Core Duties

  • Willingness to acquire new skills
  • Proficient understanding of electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration
  • Ability to interpret test equipment, measuring devices, and safety documentation
  • Read and comprehend blueprints, schematic diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Execute specific verbal and written directives
  • Uphold hotel standards, policies, and procedures with assigned personnel
  • Effectively prioritize and organize work tasks
  • Demonstrate clear thinking in high-pressure situations and make sound decisions
  • Maintain focus on details, ensuring speed and accuracy

  • Provide training and guidance to fellow staff members through knowledge sharing
  • Function independently as a mechanic by diagnosing issues, determining solutions, and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and projects

  • Guest Room Maintenance:
    1. Unclogging toilets
    2. Clearing drains
    3. Repairing various hardware
    4. Plumbing tasks
    5. Electrical repairs
    6. Heat pump maintenance
  • Public Area Maintenance:
    1. Unclogging toilets
    2. Clearing drains
    3. Repairing various hardware
    4. Plumbing tasks
    5. Electrical repairs
  • Mechanical Systems:
    1. Possess a working knowledge of:
      • Kitchen Equipment
      • HVAC systems
      • Automated building management systems
  • Tool Management:
    1. Clean, lubricate, and maintain all tools and equipment within the hotel.
    2. Ensure all tools are returned to the designated storage area.
    3. Safeguard and maintain personal tools and lockers as directed by Engineering Management.
  • Fire Safety Systems:
    1. Monitor systems as required
    2. Understand system operations
    3. Respond to emergencies involving the systems
    4. Have a working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems.
  • Emergency Response:
    1. Be available for emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to safeguard guests and staff
    2. Preserve the integrity of the building and its systems during emergencies
    3. Act swiftly and responsibly to restore normal operations
    4. Notify Engineering Management of any emergencies
  • Record Keeping:
    1. Log and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring devices
    2. Maintain a comprehensive log of daily activities and issues, ensuring information is communicated to subsequent shifts
  • Departmental Duties:
    1. Clean engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management
    2. Work efficiently and maintain organized workspaces
    3. Assist in maintaining the overall effective operation of the hotel as needed
  • General Responsibilities:
    1. Complete all tasks in a safe and professional manner
    2. Maintain communication with the Facilities Manager to ensure availability of necessary materials and tools
    3. Follow up on back-ordered items
    4. Keep the Facilities Manager informed about assignments
    5. Provide training and technical support to other engineers as required
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Ensure the hotel facility and equipment are maintained safely and efficiently
  • Adhere to all safety and security protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager/Supervisor
