Position Summary

This is an exciting phase for NW Facilities & Equipment Maintenance as we expand our capabilities. We are establishing a night construction division, equipped to manage a variety of projects, both large and small, utilizing our team and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will be a master of their craft, ready to mentor others while also engaging in diverse facilities maintenance tasks as required. We are looking for a compassionate leader who can apply organizational tools effectively, alongside extensive painting expertise to oversee and execute a range of painting projects. You will play a crucial role in developing standards for our tools and processes, ensuring we deliver high-quality results for our clients. Additionally, you will contribute to creating a training and certification program to foster the growth of all facilities maintenance staff.

Shifts Available

  • Multiple night shifts available, starting at 7 PM and concluding around 5 AM. Our technicians typically work four 10-hour shifts with three days off.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the construction sector, with a focus on custom commercial projects preferred.
  • 2+ years in a lead carpenter or similar construction management role, in addition to journey-level experience.
  • Physical capabilities include standing, bending, squatting, sitting, kneeling, crawling, repetitive hand and wrist motions, walking, hearing, and climbing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, perform framing layouts, and interpret shop drawings, structural plans, design plans, and elevations.
  • Expertise in framing, window and door installation, siding and trim installation, interior trim, finish work, casework, wood refinishing, and cabinet installations.
  • Completion of a relevant finish carpentry training program or apprenticeship, or at least five years of carpentry experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in commercial remodeling (kitchen, bathroom, finish carpentry).
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate or higher education.
  • Proficient in using common hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong understanding of Apple products/software such as iPad, iPhone, and iOS.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Journey-level carpentry skills.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a key member of our team, you will oversee and guide all carpentry-related tasks and projects.
  • Capable of completing various work orders, including painting, drywall, framing, tile work, and ceiling repairs, or eager to learn.
  • Measure, cut, and install various fixtures and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, and furniture.
  • Perform finish and trim carpentry work according to specifications.
  • Set up scaffolding or ladders as necessary.
  • Order, record, and track materials needed for jobs to meet project timelines.
  • Take accurate measurements and develop design specifications for client approval, ensuring compliance with building codes.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to devise solutions for complex construction challenges while maintaining design intent.
  • Manage small teams of carpenters and laborers.
  • Implement best practices and industry-standard construction methods.
  • Provide constructive training and guidance for carpenters and laborers as needed.
  • Utilize project management software effectively.
  • Ability to layout and set concrete forms.
