Job Overview

Aegis Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled Project Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings for mechanical and electromechanical systems using SolidWorks software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, ensuring compatibility and safety.
  • Create detailed technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion.
  • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and testing to validate design performance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot design and production issues, offering practical solutions to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
  • Maintain project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with a focus on low voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and creating technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and apply engineering principles to real-world problems.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and related safety standards.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) using SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Previous experience working on low voltage or electromechanical systems.
