We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy treatments and simulations to patients with cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiation therapy treatments and simulations to patients with cancer, following prescriptions and instructions from radiation oncologists.
- Assist in treatment planning procedures, including tumor localization and dosimetry.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for radiation oncology patients, preparing rooms and equipment for use.
- Report any erratic operation of equipment to the person in charge or Biomedical personnel.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare teams, assessing special needs and providing support.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and ensure consistency with administrative and departmental policies.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate with the Texas Medical Board or in training with a started application.
- Preferred minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or treatment center environment.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
