Job Summary

Rosenbauer South Dakota, LLC is seeking a skilled Pump Assembler to join our team. As a Pump Assembler, you will play a critical role in the assembly and fabrication of our fire apparatus, ensuring that our vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut, weld, and sand pipes to prepare for assembly
  • Bolt and assemble components to the plumbing system
  • Read through specs and blueprints to ensure compliance with customer standards
  • Perform water and suction tests to ensure the efficiency of the plumbing system
  • Install valves and ensure correct attachment
  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor to meet department needs
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General plumbing, mechanical, and/or fabrication knowledge
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions with a positive attitude
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book
  • Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes in production process
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
Working Conditions

This position is in a general shop with access to all welfare facilities. The temperature is temperature-controlled, but it can be humid at times. There is consistent noise from machines, which may cause difficulty hearing. Most hazards come from machines, but following proper procedures should minimize risk. There is also constant dust and airborne particles due to machine use. Sometimes this position requires working above floor level and in confined spaces. This position may also include low light when working on some parts of the truck.

Physical Demands

This position requires standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for the entire shift. It can become loud in the shop with many machines being used at once. With constant noise, talking or hearing can be difficult. During shifts, some projects require the use of hands, fingers, and feet for over 60 minutes, and the use of arms, legs, back, and shoulders could be required for up to 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception.

This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
