Position Summary
The Orthopedic Surgical Specialist possesses extensive expertise in surgical instruments and advanced technology across multiple specialties. This role includes the development and delivery of educational content tailored to the needs of the surgical team, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and sanitized.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in the first scrub role during surgical procedures.
2. Understands and manages supply costs while ensuring high-quality care is upheld.
3. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments and ensures availability for all procedures.
4. Collaborates with Biomedical Services to address equipment maintenance and repair needs.
5. Provides training and guidance to staff regarding the care and handling of surgical instruments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification may be required for certain locations
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience
- Capability to work across at least three different specialty areas.
