Orthopedic Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Texas Orthopedic Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth recovery process for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assume responsibility for the efficient management of patients in the immediate post-anesthesia period.
- Provide comprehensive knowledge of clinical components of care required in the PACU to ensure direct patient care.
- Maintain communication with the Director of Surgical Support Services or designee and Anesthesia staff to ensure prompt communication of any problems during the immediate postoperative period.
- Participate in a rotational call system to provide continuous availability of patient services.
- Perform perioperative assessment of patients immediately following surgery as indicated.
- Maintain patient safety through surveillance of all practices in the PACU.
- Utilize communication skills effectively in working with patients, physicians, and personnel.
- Provide direct supervision of other personnel assigned to the PACU to ensure appropriate delegation of responsibilities.
- Plan, coordinate, provide, and supervise nursing care to promote continuity of patient care in the perioperative period.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.
- 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a Recovery Room setting is required.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License is required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification are required.
