Job Overview

We are seeking a certified and licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support operations at the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. The successful candidate will perform examinations independently and adhere to quality assurance standards established by the American College of Radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Nuclear Medicine scanning and optimize examination potential.
  • Collect and communicate clinical information to Radiologists, ensuring accurate patient identification and exam explanations.
  • Complete patient questionnaires and interviews before exams, reviewing documentation for completeness and appropriateness.
  • Maintain knowledge of Nuclear Medicine safety protocols and procedures, adhering to VA policies and medical staff bylaws.
  • Complete assigned training and documentation requirements.
Requirements
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • At least two years of work experience in the specialized modality, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Siemens nuclear medicine scanners, particularly Biograph PET/CT and Symbia Intevo, is preferred.
  • Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience with AGFA Enterprise Imaging (EI) and/or IMPAX is also preferred.
  • Venipuncture certification and experience with starting Intravenous (IV) and contrast injections are required.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
Working Conditions
  • The successful candidate must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs from floor to waist and carrying up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance are also required.
