Surgical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at St. Joseph Medical Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective completion of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Under the guidance of surgeons, nurses, or other designated personnel, you will perform intra-operative duties within the scope of licensure to ensure that the operating room or environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
As a Surgical Technician, you will be responsible for utilizing and keeping current on the application of sterile and aseptic technique, surgical procedures, implementation tools and technologies, human anatomy as well as collaborating and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive and therapeutic procedures.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing surgical care to patients to facilitate safe and effective completion of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Performing intra-operative duties within the scope of licensure to ensure patient safety.
- Utilizing and keeping current on the application of sterile and aseptic technique, surgical procedures, implementation tools and technologies, human anatomy.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive and therapeutic procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from a surgical technology program accredited through Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology (ARC-ST).
- Current certification through the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) or registration with the State of Washington.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
