Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the University of Michigan's Briarwood Medical Group. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our ambulatory care team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to internal medicine patients and their families under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Administer and document medications according to established standards.
  • Observe patient status, report, and document changes and nursing care given.
  • Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations.
  • Instruct patients and families according to a teaching plan established by a Registered Nurse.
  • Participate in unit staff meetings for problem-solving, planning, and improvement of patient care.
  • Assist in quality assurance activities.
  • Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved school for practical nursing is necessary.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan is necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
