The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing essential operational functions within the pharmacy department. This includes:
- Workflow Management: Supervise daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of patient care and ensure proper medication and equipment usage.
- Medication Review: Analyze and assess medication orders to identify and resolve any drug-related issues.
- Prescriber Consultation: Provide expert advice to prescribers regarding medication-related concerns and suggest formulary alternatives when necessary.
- Patient Information Management: Review, interpret, and verify patient information and medication orders for accurate processing.
- Policy Development: Contribute to health-system level decision-making and participate in committee work to shape relevant policies.
- Drug Information Support: Offer assistance in answering drug information inquiries.
- Leadership and Management: Demonstrate leadership qualities while managing and coordinating activities within the assigned practice area, providing constructive feedback to staff.
- Training and Mentorship: Facilitate the training and development of staff, residents, and students.
- Staffing Recommendations: Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing candidates and making selection recommendations.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
