About the Job

  • We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill this Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Evening position, which offers a salary range of $20.90 - $31.36 per hour.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • In this role, you'll be responsible for performing phlebotomy services, collecting and processing specimens, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  1. Collect and label specimens for requested testing and process them according to established guidelines.
  2. Perform data entry of patient demographics and tests ordered, as well as all paperwork, technical, and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens.
  3. Respond to telephone calls and use computer terminals and reference guides to provide information and answer questions from clients and patients regarding specimen requirements, test results, and other client requests.
  4. Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to achieve the best outcomes for patients and the organization.
  5. Develop and implement effective solutions to improve laboratory processes and patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy training or experience preferred.
  • Prior clinical laboratory experience is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license for driving positions.
  • Able to approach, communicate, and positively interact with patients and healthcare professionals while performing duties, frequently under stressful conditions.
  • Able to work without supervision but know when to consult with supervisory personnel for assistance in determining appropriate actions.
  • Able to use the electronic laboratory information system and perform work activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Able to recognize the various levels of service demanded of the laboratory and prioritize work and adjust working style accordingly.
  • Able to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks at one time.
