Opportunity

Are you passionate about safeguarding personal information in accordance with privacy laws? The Kohler Cybersecurity team is in search of a Global Privacy Solutions Analyst to craft secure and confidential solutions that align with our compliance standards. Our dedicated global privacy team collaborates closely with business partners to pinpoint privacy vulnerabilities, implement protective measures, and facilitate business initiatives.

As a member of our Privacy Center of Excellence (COE), you will join a close-knit group of cybersecurity and legal professionals, along with numerous privacy advocates within Kohler. Together, we establish privacy requirements, educate stakeholders on risks and necessary mitigations, and address regulatory obligations such as privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs). We are looking for a new team member who is inquisitive, driven, and dependable; someone who will contribute to the positive culture we have nurtured.

In this role, you will identify and evaluate privacy risks throughout the organization. You will devise strategies and plans to articulate and enforce privacy requirements.

Recognizing that not all risks are equal, you will adopt a strategic approach to enhance awareness of privacy issues and mitigate those risks across the organization. This involves engaging with business partners to comprehend data privacy risks and collaboratively seeking acceptable solutions.

We utilize the NIST Privacy Framework and have established robust foundational controls; our goal is to expand these controls and enhance efficiency. Collaboration is key; the Privacy Analyst will work cross-functionally with business units, IT, and enterprise functions to discover opportunities for risk reduction and process enhancements. You will act as a trusted advisor to partners in IT and the business. Exceptional communication skills are essential, with the ability to convey complex issues in clear, non-technical terms. You should be capable of influencing key business partners, including executive leadership, and fostering consensus in complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities. Join the Kohler cybersecurity team and become a pivotal voice in our privacy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various teams across the organization to identify, propose, and implement risk mitigation strategies and process enhancements for our global privacy program. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Organizing key initiatives and activities related to the development and execution of privacy standards, training, monitoring, controls, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Conducting privacy impact assessments for programs, systems, products, and services.
  • Maintaining privacy-related notices, policies, standards, guidelines, and processes.
  • Addressing privacy-related inquiries from both external and internal data subjects.
  • Managing and fulfilling Subject Access Requests and other data subject requests through automated systems.
  • Supporting the development and management of internal privacy and data protection controls.
  • Maintaining playbooks for ongoing compliance with privacy and data protection laws and related requirements.
  • Analyzing trends and systemic issues and preparing reports/dashboards for management.
  • Overseeing privacy requirements for external Kohler websites.
Technical Competency Requirements
  • Our team engages with numerous privacy regulations globally, and experience in regions such as Europe, China, California, India, and Brazil is essential. We also work with various security technologies and domains, including Data Protection, Encryption, Access Control, Audit Logs & Maintenance, Incident Response, Cloud Security, and IoT technologies.
  • While we do not expect you to be an expert in all areas, we do seek candidates who are enthusiastic about working within them. Be prepared to discuss your exposure and proficiency in these areas, including examples of practical experience. Additional areas of expertise include:
  • Understanding general data privacy regulatory concepts and translating them into business operations and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley, payment card industry standards, HIPAA/HITECH, and global data privacy requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and technologies.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk, business impact, control, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Experience in audit, compliance, or governance is preferred.
  • Participation in change management initiatives is a plus.
Skills/Requirements
  • Candidates will be evaluated primarily on their ability to demonstrate the competencies necessary for success in this role, which typically include:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in IT, security, privacy, or related fields.
  • Experience with privacy and data protection laws.
  • Professional privacy certification such as CIPP or progress toward certification.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Mandarin, French, or Spanish is a strong advantage.

The salary range for this position is competitive and may vary based on experience, education, and work location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
