POSITION OVERVIEW:

The role involves the design and enhancement of extrusion control systems, ensuring compliance with specified requirements. Responsibilities include supporting the assembly process on the shop floor, identifying necessary modifications, and documenting changes to meet established specifications. Additionally, the position may require assessing systems and components for cost-effectiveness and reliability to guarantee successful project execution.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop control systems tailored for continuous web handling machinery according to defined specifications.
  • Collaborate on design and drafting tasks under the mentorship of a Senior or Staff Project Engineer.
  • Assist in the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) alongside design teams.
  • Supervise the activities of junior design engineers and coordinate with the engineering team to ensure timely project completion.
  • Provide support for assembly, procurement, and field-service inquiries.
  • Engage in Project Team meetings to review contracts and project designs.
  • Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, vendor discussions, and system start-up/commissioning.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Controls and Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Familiarity with ISO management systems such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in controls and electrical systems design, particularly in industrial automation or automated machinery.
  • Proficient in control system design, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and testing documentation.
  • Experience with high-speed servo systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs is essential.
  • Familiarity with HMI programming tools such as RSView ME/SE or Wonderware.
  • Understanding of SCADA systems and their operational requirements.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

COMPENSATION: Salary range of $70,000 to $95,000, depending on experience.
