Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team at our Outpatient Center in Madison. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with a Registered Nurse to provide patient care and maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare equipment, supplies, and resources for surgical procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and other healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care that prioritizes patient needs and integrates with the overall plan of care.
  • Communicate effectively with the Registered Nurse and other team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Utilize aseptic technique when handling supplies, instruments, and equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Document quality controls and patient information accurately and thoroughly, adhering to unit-specific standards.
  • Participate in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team-building activities to promote a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians.
  • No experience required, but completion of a Surgical Technologist program or experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent.
