Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing technical patient care and hands-on expertise in the handling of surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for all specialties using surgeon preference cards as a reference.
  • Set up and maintain sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon's intra-operative needs.
  • Function as 2nd assistant during surgical procedure.
  • Understand and maintain current knowledge and practice of hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved one year surgical technologist program.
  • Knowledgeable in aseptic technique, scrub skills, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
  • Knowledgeable and purpose of correct medications and solutions used on the surgical field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of previous surgical tech experience.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist.
