POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Sales Representative (RSR) plays a crucial role in enhancing General Mills' market presence with the primary goal of boosting sales and profitability. This position is responsible for executing effective in-store strategies related to sales, merchandising, and distribution across a designated area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

SALES ENGAGEMENT (70% of role)

Optimize sales and product displays through in-store assessments and engagement with key stakeholders. Achieve sales targets by demonstrating exceptional negotiation and selling abilities. Cultivate and sustain relationships with influential decision-makers in the territory to address challenges and enhance sales outcomes.

ANALYTICAL THINKING & SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT (10% of role)

Build foundational sales expertise and product understanding through hands-on field experiences. Leverage analytical insights to boost sales performance at the retail level. Prepare for sales interactions by collecting pertinent store, product, and market information to create impactful presentations for decision-makers.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (20% of role)

Take ownership of results and deeply comprehend customer requirements. Familiarize with General Mills products, categories, and brand priorities, linking them to store opportunities. Relay market insights from the field to management effectively. Utilize promotional materials to enhance product displays. Execute retail priorities successfully through results-oriented coverage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must reside within a specified radius of designated zip codes or be willing to relocate. Strong desire to represent General Mills and its leading consumer food brands. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficient in using tablets and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, influencing, and negotiation capabilities. Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Majority of time spent in retail environments. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds using appropriate techniques. Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and occasional ladder climbing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in sales or customer-facing roles. Proven ability to build relationships with key organizational decision-makers. Bachelor's Degree is advantageous.
