POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Sales Representative (RSR) plays a crucial role in enhancing General Mills' market presence with the primary goal of optimizing additional sales and profitability. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

FIELD SALES ENGAGEMENT (70% of time)

  • Enhance additional sales and product displays through in-store assessments and effective engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Achieve sales targets by demonstrating exceptional sales and negotiation capabilities.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with influential decision-makers within the assigned territory to address challenges and maximize sales outcomes.

ANALYTICAL THINKING & SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT (10% of time)

  • Acquire foundational sales skills and product expertise through hands-on field experiences.
  • Leverage analytical insights to boost sales performance at the retail level.
  • Prepare for sales meetings by collecting pertinent store, product, and market information to develop impactful presentations for key decision-makers.

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE (20% of time)

  • Take ownership of results and possess a deep understanding of customer requirements.
  • Familiarize oneself with General Mills products, categories, and brand priorities, linking them to store opportunities.
  • Relay market insights from the retail environment to management.
  • Utilize point-of-sale materials to promote additional displays.
  • Effectively implement retail priorities through results-oriented coverage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must reside within a 10-mile radius of specified zip codes or be willing to relocate within a month of starting.

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in using tablets (e.g., iPad) and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; General Mills does not sponsor work visas for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Most of the time will be spent in customer retail environments.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying at least 20 pounds using appropriate techniques and safety protocols.
  • Involves prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and occasional ladder climbing in retail settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or related fields.
  • Ability to establish relationships with key decision-makers across organizations.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is competitive and reflects various factors including education, skills, experience, and certifications.
