Role Summary:
This position will initially report to the IT Director and later to the SOC Manager. The Cybersecurity Specialist will assist the IT Director in establishing the foundational elements of a Security Operations Center (SOC), including processes and regular audit tasks. This role encompasses the implementation, configuration, and operation of security platforms essential for SOC functions, such as penetration testing and security policy enforcement across various core platforms. Additionally, the specialist will provide comprehensive support for all corporate IT security needs from Day 1. As the security team expands and the SOC evolves, the responsibilities will broaden to encompass other business units.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from core platforms, including:
- Logs in the Log Aggregation platform.
- Endpoint security through XDR detections and remediation.
- Email security alerts, intelligence gathering, and incident flagging.
- Alerts and remediation associated with MDM, SSO, and other critical platforms.
- Implement Preventative Measures:
- Manage endpoint and infrastructure patch updates.
- Conduct periodic testing for failover procedures, data restoration, and validation.
- Perform software and hardware audits to identify unauthorized or problematic components.
- Utilize reports and intelligence from various security platforms to maintain user safety and awareness.
- Manage credential rotation as necessary and propose improvements.
- Develop Security Policies:
- Review, configure, and manage policies across all business applications and platforms.
- Ensure the security integrity of platforms such as IdP, XDR, MDM, etc.
- Establish processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation as a key member of the security team.
- Conduct Cybersecurity Incident Investigations:
- Perform cyber forensics and incident management.
- Draft incident reports and executive summaries.
- Initiate remediation steps following detections.
- Escalate issues as required to the appropriate channels.
- Contribute to SOX and SOC audits, including preparation and remediation expertise.
- Lead security projects and collaborate closely with vendors.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Over five years of experience with SOX and SOC audits, including preparation and remediation.
- Proficient in vendor due diligence, CVE tracking, and reporting.
- Expertise in network security, including auditing firewall rules and policies.
- Demonstrated success with security frameworks and architecture for over five years.
- Capable of conducting internal and external scans, including penetration testing.
- In-depth knowledge of Cloud Identity Management with over five years of experience.
- Significant experience in Cybersecurity Incident Management and Cyber Forensics, exceeding five years.
- Strong documentation skills, including drafting proposals and reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong advocate for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process improvements.
- Enjoys creating diagrams to illustrate security frameworks.
- Experience in writing incident reports and Technology Assessment Reports.
- Previous experience in developing or revising a Security Playbook.
- Able to collaborate with management to design effective Cybersecurity training programs.
- Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Desires to take ownership of projects from inception to completion.
- Must be able to pass a background check.

Compensation Range:
Compensation will be in the range of $120,000 - $160,000, including Restricted Stock Units. The final compensation will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.
