Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding and Machine Tool Faculty member to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in welding and machine tool technology, as well as participating in curriculum development and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver lectures and labs in welding and machine tool technology, ensuring that students gain a solid understanding of the subject matter.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of industry and students, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback, using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support student success.
  • Engage with industry partners and stakeholders to ensure that our programs meet the needs of employers and the community.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as welding engineering, machine tool technology, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in welding and machine tool technology, preferably in a teaching or training environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding and machine tool technology, including safety procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mastery of welding and machine tool technology, including certifications such as AWS or ASME.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation, including the use of learning management systems and other educational technologies.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and developments, with the ability to incorporate this knowledge into teaching and curriculum development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to student success and community engagement.
