Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biller IV Customer Service Representative to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for resolving complex accounts and providing exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and payers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on Outbound Dialer and answer incoming phone calls from patients and vendors regarding self-pay, unfunded/underfunded, and balance after accounts for physicians and hospital receivables.
  • Effectively review and process credit card payments collected via phone, and transfer between payer buckets in accordance with appropriate contract or program guidelines.
  • Interpret and apply financial policies and guidelines for both professional and facility, related to assigned self-pay and unfunded, and underfunded patients function.
  • Accurately document all conversations and actions into the HIS system, and take appropriate follow-up actions and set follow-up timeframes.
Requirements
  • Skilled at using computerized systems and applications to maintain/update patient accounting information.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively interact with PFS staff, PBG Staff, and standalone physician billing offices.
  • Good math skills to accurately perform a variety of calculations related to patient accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including hospital and physician receivables, and analytical skills to research and explain patient balances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
