About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Biller IV Medi-Cal Representative to join our Patient Financial Services team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex accounts and transactions, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and resolve complex accounts and transactions, including those related to government programs such as Medi-Cal, CalOptima, and other Managed Medi-Cal payers.
  • Provide expert-level support to colleagues and stakeholders, including payers and patients, regarding account status and billing inquiries.
  • Run reports and utilize computer programs to maintain and update patient accounting information.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with PFS staff, leaders, payers, patients, and families.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and University policies.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in patient financial services, with a focus on government programs and billing.
  • Advanced knowledge of CPT, HCPC, and ICD billing codes, authorization requirements, and related documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve routine and non-routine errors independently.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
