Pediatric Respiratory Therapist

Seattle Children's Main is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status, identifying potential issues and developing strategies to address them.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and timing.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current WA state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric respiratory care, preferably in a PICU or NICU setting.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Knowledge of pediatric respiratory care guidelines and protocols.
- Certification in pediatric respiratory care, such as the Certified Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (CPRT) credential.
