Job Summary

Seattle Children's Main is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status, identifying potential issues and developing strategies to address them.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and timing.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current WA state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric respiratory care, preferably in a PICU or NICU setting.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • Knowledge of pediatric respiratory care guidelines and protocols.
  • Certification in pediatric respiratory care, such as the Certified Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (CPRT) credential.
