Job Summary

Seattle Children's Main is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Respiratory Care: Administer oxygen therapy, manage airways, and perform ventilator management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor Patient Progress: Continuously assess patient condition and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure that all respiratory equipment and supplies are properly maintained and available for use.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a pediatric intensive care setting.
  • Certifications: Current BLS, PALS, RRT, and NBRC-RRT certifications.
  • Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in a pediatric intensive care setting, with a focus on respiratory care.
  • Certifications: Certification in high-frequency jet ventilator and high-frequency oscillator therapy.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
